This dream felt like I was at first playing a video game of the events happening. Toward the end of the dream it felt more like I was watching a movie.
The first thing I can remember is that I was playing Final Fantasy 7. Except that it wasn't. In the dream it felt like I had seen it all before even though all of the events were new to me. Cloud had the more modern design from Kingdom Hearts with the red cape and golden arm.
The whole time he was traveling through a forest with a female partner. I have no idea who she was, or who she was supposed to be. But I thought of her more as an actress than a video game character.
Most of the dream is a bit murky to me at this point. I know that they traveled for a while. I don't remember what happened until the end.
Around this point the main character stopped being Cloud. I took over that character and I felt like I was the lead in a movie. We eventually came to a clearing in the forest.
It was there that we came upon a crazy, old redneck played by Burt Reynolds. There was a large blanket covering a lump in the middle of the clearing. It was obvious to me that he was making some kind of dinner. I asked him what it was.
Burt replied that it was "Humble Pie," and with that he whipped off the blanket and there sat a large plate (about 4 feet in diameter) topped off with a large glass cover. Inside was an enormous mound of spaghetti and a mutilated human body. The man was dead, but his hands, feet, arms and legs were chopped off and spread around like garnish.
I remember feeling disgusted. At this point the dream gets a bit fuzzy. I think we stayed the night. At this point, I switched to watching mode in the dream. I was not a part of the action.
This was when a new character came in. He was half man, half cat; if there is such a creature. Now that I think more about it, you can say he is similar to the "rei" character from the Breath of Fire video game series. This catman, stole the girl I was traveling with while we both slept.
I came back into the dream when I woke up. I searched for the girl but couldn't find her. It wasn't until I caught up with Burt that I found her. He had another blanket prepared. I asked him where the girl was. With that he gave a great big smile and said, "Humble Pie!" He whipped off the blanket again and there she was. Still alive, but with all of her limbs hacked off and spread around her on the gigantic plate of spaghetti. I remember feeling horrified and disgusted at this point.
I gave Burt and angry look and next thing I knew the dream did a Horizontal wipe like I was watching a movie. Instant passage of time. Now the girl was standing with her legs sewn back on. Burt was tied up next to a blazing campfire and looking worried. He asked me what I was going to do.
I smiled and said that I want some Cooked Humble Pie. I pulled his arms forward into the fire.
Another horizontal wipe and we were leaving the camp. Burt was left sitting in a plate of spaghetti with his arms, legs, hands, and feet surrounding him all burnt up. There was no way he could sew himself back together.
That's when I woke up.
